Warner Dodson
His Worship Warner Dodson
Mayor Dodson is in his 60s and on his fourth consecutive term as mayor. He's decently liked by the rank and file of Northport, but mostly he's amenable to various special interest groups, who put out a great deal of effort to keep him in power. In person, he speaks with exacting clarity, emphasizing his overseas education.
The Mayor has been increasingly reclusive over the last few years, and while he remains very active politically, he tends to avoid private interactions entirely.
It is no secret that Warner's ambitions stretch far beyond Northport itself, and he's an outspoken critic of Omelan expansionism in Kemet and Gallia.

Personal history
Born the third of six children, Warner Dodson was raised primarily by his grandparents, after his parents vanished on an expedition. He was raised on a modest upbringing in a very large old historical home. They had enough money to send him overseas to Gallia (then Ausonian) to attend seminary school to become a minister.
Just as he was to be ordained, the Last Great War broke out and the Ausonia Empire tore itself apart. Rather than return home, Warner joined the Gallian Liberation Army as a chaplain, carrying a rifle into battle and giving last rights to soldiers dying for the cause of freedom. His experience in the trenches left a lasting impression.
After the war came to an end, Warner spent a few years in Gallia before returning to become the head of a Wedan temple in Northport. He became increasingly active in local politics, inspired by the results of the Last Great War. A staunchly anti-imperial and pro-business stance, along with a knack for exchanging favors with the industrialist wealthy, made him popular and he was elected to the office of Alderman in Greenvine. Already wealthy, he amassed favors and influence that funded the creation of Halsey House--deliberately fashioned to model the historical residence of the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth, as a promise to himself.
Twenty-two years ago when the comet streaked over the skies of Jord, Warner saw it as a sign that Weda called him to fulfill the role of chieftain, and he retired from the church to focus full-time on politics. Winning the mayoral election for the first time fifteen years ago was only the beginning--Originally, Warner planned to run for Premiere of the Province, but in recent years his sights have been set even higher.
In the most recent term of his mayoral career, Warner has become more reclusive, withdrawing from public life, yet becoming more outspoken against the Omelans. He is now one of the greatest proponents of interventionism, and with General Segomo supporting him, he plans to run for Prime Minister to lead the Commonwealth into war overseas.
