Ajari Kuna

The Ajari Kuna. Leader of the great water temple. In direct contact with Cybele themself. The great water temple is one of the major structures of the water plane and the heart of Cybelism, the Ajari Kuna has a great amount of power because of this. 

The Summit

The Ajari Kuna's Office is the summit of the water temple. Here he has his personal meditation space. A still water pool, filled with the purest water that can be found. Together with 4 eternal candles. The Ajari Kuna can spend his time levitating above the pool in a form of meditation. Most of the time, you can find the Ajari here. Either meditating, thinking about or performing his duties. There are also a number of rituals that can be performed here.
Whilst they are most commonly found here or venturing down to the lower levels of the temple. This is purely due to personal preference, the Ajari Kuna is in no way bound to stay in the temple. Whilst it may have great consequences to leave the temple behind. It is often found that in the beginning of their term the Ajari Kuna spends a lot of time attending to other business outside the plane of water.

Duties and Obligations

Whilst having this title has comes with great power, it also bares great responsibility. The Ajari Kuna oversees the entire temple. This means that this person needs to make sure that there are rules in place, the air bubble is maintained, enough sustenance for all living creatures. The Ajari Kuna also needs to make sure that workings of the school and monetary are properly instituted, having the right people in charge and them teaching the correct things.
One of the rituals performed atop the summit is the inauguration. This is an event that comes by every 5 years whereby the students finish studying and are given a position or released from the temple. Or where other faculty get reassigned or promoted. But, perhaps most importantly, the Ajari Kuna appoints several different Kuna. These Kuna are the grand masters of their own branch. Such as housing, martial arts, theology, extraplaner affairs, etc.

Appointing the Ajari Kuna

Every 2-3 millennia a new Ajari Kuna is appointed. This is a process that is not well known throughout the temple but it is in fact Cybele herself who sends a sign to the next Ajari Kuna. Who is then prepped for their duties as the ruler of the temple. This has happened a number of times in different ways. Most of the time the previous Ajari Kuna was still alive and trained the next in line for their duties. However sometimes the Ajari Kuna perished due to an unforeseen circumstance and the next was trained through visions and what some belief to be the ghost of the previous Ajari Kuna. And in one case, the next appointed student didn't want the responsibility and duties the Ajari Kuna has to perform. However he came to his senses and adopted the responsibility as he was best fit for the position.
