Rough summary: Ancient lost Empire from before the North Ice would take place. When the events of the North Ice began, Ancient Goliaths came to flee disaster.

The Elven Ancesters took in the refugees with the promise to ensure their children would be safe from some uncertain threat.

Long story that has no details, the elves changed the Goliaths into two species - High Orcs and Goliath as we know them more today. The elves took the opportunity to change themselves to face environmental changes as well, becoming the modern Elves and Merfolk.

Goliaths were then altered by the Adrakian Empire into developing a strain of shorter, mroe easily distractable beings - Humans

This is the origin of how Humans and Elves and Orcs can have Half-Elf and Half-Orc offspring.
