Bees

Bees are winged insects that are usually black and yellow and appear to be fuzzy. When agitated, they may sting the agitator or some being believed to be the agitator. These stings sometimes turn lethal, but are generally irritants to most people.
These buzzing little fuzzy insects are notorious for bumping into people or trying to collect pollen by crawling through the hair of extremely short-haired individuals or individuals who have fur.

Apiary Products

Honey is a product of value for its medicinal uses - a wound that has been cleans and then painted over with honey before being wrapped has a greater chance of healing cleanly than a wound that has not been painted before bandaging. Honey is also valued as an effective method of easing seasonal sniffles and sneezes among nonlocal individuals and travelers so the next year, those individuals would be less susceptible to seasonal sneezes and sniffles, though the treatment is usually introduced slowly to ensure there are no ill effects.
Honey is also valued for its value as a preservative and seasoning in culinary arts. Mead is a major product of MEADTOWN, famous for its mead and other apiary products.
Beeswax is used to create candles and beauty products.

Historical Importance

Bees have been weaponized as a weapon of the people but people keeping bees in a weakened glass jar with a perferated cork. This weapon is not used often, because bees are difficult to control, and the bottle is not a permanent home for the bees to survive.
Most successful towns based on the local apiaries are towns along a side road from the main roads. This tradition has begun as apiaries along the main roads had become targets of individuals wanting to remove rivals. This led to the practice of apiaries being furthest away from the side road leading to and through the towns, and building walls as a deterent against wildlife and casual wanderers with torches.
Honey has been used to deliver poison, but poison by honey is typically a method that kills more than only the target, though some have used non-local honey to weaken or poison their opposition.
