History
First Light was commissioned by the Emeni clan of
Luria in 207GE. In the traditional
Makeyan fashion, she was always captained by a member of the Emeni clan, and crewed by family and close friends. As the Emeni line dwindled, other ships in their fleet were sold to
The Guild to pay off debts, but
First Light remained.
Captain Luria Rufina Emeni was the only child of her generation, and took over the ship's care from her father after passing her sea trials. Knowing that the Emeni line had grown too small to sustain itself, she struck a deal with the Ruten clan of Luria, to ensure that the ship would remain in trusted hands.
While
Yemar Luria Tamsa Emeni passed her sea trials and was eligible under Guild law to take over the captaincy of
First Light when her mother retired, she chose not to take the role, preferring to continue in her capacity as a spiritual advisor. Instead, she became first mate to Aredda Talwor, who had been first mate for her mother.
