River Walkers
Devout believers in the river spirit Lady Cando are referred to as River Walkers, for their traditional pilgrimage along the river's banks. This is the oldest religion in Coromare. It is difficult to calculate the number of followers, as not all worshipers of Lady Cando consider themselves River Walkers. Some worship or pay tribute to Lady Cando in addition to other deities, and never walk the Path of Lady Cando, while others view her as their primary deity.
While there are shrines set up along the River Cando, often maintained by local worshipers, the religion lacks any formal structure and has no priesthood.
Worship
Shrines to Lady Cando are typically small wooden or stone structures, set up along the banks of the river. Offerings range from simple to elaborate. A wealthy Coromaran might leave a few Golden Suns, while a child might leave a shiny river pebble.
Typically, a worshipper will place their offering on the shrine altar, then sit at the river's edge to gaze on the water's surface. After making their request to Lady Cando, they will wash their hands and face with river water in hopes of carrying her blessing with them.
