Io

Io is a gas giant whose moons house the Homyn Kingdom, as well as many other smaller civilizations. Its moons are divided into an East and West Orbit, which circle the gas giant in opposite directions. The Homyn take advantage of this to travel and conduct trade across vast distances that would ordinarily strain a Kingdom, given that most moons' orbits will outpace their fastest vessels.

Estimates place the number of moons in Io's orbit at ninety, although only a fraction of those are frequently and easily accessible enough to colonize. They sport a diverse array of biomes--from towering forests to ammonia seas--and native species whose biology is specifically adapted to live in them.

While the Homyn have colonized many worlds in Io's orbit, converting their natives into vassal races, a large number remain uncharted and unconquered. Nevertheless, they continue to expand their reach at a steady pace, and explain their success at dominating the moons to their superior intelligence and adaptability, compared to the more specialized races native to a single moon.
