The Order of the Morning are a group of paladins who seek to free the waking world of the nefarious influences of the Dream World. Members of the order come in several varieties from the pious, preaching Chanters to the daemon hunting Blades. The Order recruits Corsairs to help fight the dream world influences where their blades cannot reach, and in exchange provide unparalleled protection from the bodiless phantoms that lurk among dreams.
They have temples and cathedrals at most major settlements, with their headquarters located in
Mons Mirror. Initiates of the order are sorted into Blades, who specialize in hunting daemons in the fieled, and Chanters, who perform temple duties such as treating nightmares and purging curses.
Every temple of the morning is presided over by someone called a severed, a member of the order who has completed their path to cleansing the spirit. Once the spirit has been sufficiently cleansed a “severing” may occur completely separating the recipients astral from his physical body. Severing is viewed as mutilation by most somnambulists, but the order views it as the only path to enlightenment.
