12 - Serenity Point "The Games"

When last we left our heroes... the first day of the Coronation Games had begun. Making their way back to the Hall of Heroes after collecting the bounty for the "escort job", the party walked in while a burly, female Half-Orc was making a toast to her fellow competitors. Somi, as they would later learn, had just arrived in the city and was looking for a sponsor to take part in the games. Ailonora decided that she would sponsor her. The night concluded with Mary and Ty exchanging information with Emmorie. The following morning, Ailonora arose very early to head to the palace to withdraw some GP (2000). Simultaneously, Somi was out for her morning workout and soon met up with Ailonora, who proceeded to sponsor both Somi and herself in their respective games. Ammethi ventured into Temple Row to speak with Taryn and see how she was holding up. Ty made his way to the Temple of Erebus and made acquaintances with Brother Qualaa, a male Aarakocra priest of Erebus. After discovering that he was a "chosen", Ty and Ammethi met up. Meanwhile, Jordan and Hollis ventured to the Kingsman Armorsmith and met Dawn Star, Bearclaw's brother. Hollis purchased a set of plate armor with a credit line to the Merchants' Guild. Mary and Ty spent the majority of the day scoping out the competitors and formulating betting patterns. The competitor field appeared to be very thicc. Later that evening, everyone gathered at the palace and got a rules brief from Captain Velkan after a brief introduction from the Queen herself. Returning to the inn for the night, Mary and Ty used their newly acquired teleportation rings and found themselves floating out at sea on a large, elegant casino boat. The two placed a number of bets and promptly return to their rooms. The night passes without incident, and the next morning, the games commenced.

• Bearclaw handily defeated Thanihl Stoneheart (2:1 - 100 GP bet = 200 GP win)
• Somi defeated the Ironfist (3:1 - 500 GP bet = 1500 GP win)
• Hollis was defeated by Aragwynn (1:4 - 500 GP bet = 2000 GP win)
• Belonde (Necromancer) defeated the Golden Dominion (2:1 - 0 GP bet)
• Ailonora defeated Fazan (500 GP bet = 1500 GP win, + 1 GP bet = 3 GP won)

The First Day of Games:

• The group will be able to take a "long rest" and recover their spent spells/HP.
• The arena will be cleared from the arena around mid-afternoon to make preparations for the second day of games.
• There will be street performances, merchants, pickpockets, and debauchery throughout the remainder of the day.

The Mucky Duck:

• Captain Stormbreaker will send the fisherman up to the Hall of Heroes
• Red, just Red (drunken fisherman who hauled up the panther)
• The panther is unlike anything they've ever seen

City Guard Quest Board:

• 5 GP - Missing cat; last seen near the upper city docks
• 50 GP - Reward for information leading to the arrest of thieves and criminals who have stolen items from the Hall of Heroes
• 300 GP - Reward for the return of "Fancy Man" William Theodore Porter, III [200 GP - dead]
• 500 GP - Reward for information leading to the shutdown of the High Street Gambling Den

Adventurer's Guild Quests:

• 10 GP/day - New crewmembers aboard the Sea Sprite, a mercenary ship hunting ice pirates in the north seas.
• 1000 GP - Reward for the return of a missing girl; last seen boarding an airship in Vitall; return to the local branch of the Free Merchants
• 6000 GP - Adventuring party requested; to investigate the disappearance of a treasure-hunting group on the eastern island of Harreach; the group is two weeks past their expected return

Local Quests, Rumors, and Tasks

• Susie and Amir are in town, and have set up shop in town (a perception of 13+ will see a very animated Susie ala Yamar selling wares at her wagon. Amir will also be there).
• Inquisitions and anti-immigrants in the lower city.
• Steel Predator will have been hauled in by a fishing vessel, seemingly unconscious (rumor overheard in a tavern by a very drunk sailor).
• A priceless historical royal item will be stolen at the completion of the Coronation Games; the queen will offer a valuable reward for its return.
• The Merchants Guild wants the heart of the Steel Predator
• Papa Ferinor wants the heart of the Steel Predator
