The High Crown of Wirtelkag

"And so the minotaurs came out of their mountains after those five years, and they gifted our King his crowns, and when the Dukes took their Crowns the King selected the most beautiful of them. And so this crown became known as the High Crown of Wirtelkag, and every emperor since has worn it."-Gunter Eddrick, Historian of Wirtelkag in the Time of King Orcan Ironfist   The High Crown of Wirtelkag began as one of the 20 Crowns of Wirtelkag that were created by the Minotaurs for King Orcan. These 20 Crowns were made for each duke and the King specifically. When the Crowns were finished and paid for, King Orcan personally selected the crown that became known as the High Crown and put it upon his head. This Crown was easily considered the most beautiful and powerful. It contained ten precious amethysts, rubies, and emeralds, all across the band. It was patterned like the Head of Dragon, its great teeth pointing out of the crown like wicked daggers. The Crown gave magical powers to its wearer. When Orcan wore it, he could jump over buildings, rip trees out of the ground, and spit fire like the dragon he emulated. Orcan himself became a much more powerful warrior, and his reign became even more cemented once he could defeat any opponent he came across. When Orcan died in the Great Elf War the crown was given to his son and pretender King Derrev Ironfist, and when he died in the The Great Dismembering the Crown was sealed away by the High Priests of the Kingdom. They said that it would only be released when a great warrior like Orcan could reunite the Kingdom and prove they were worthy of wearing the High Crown.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

The item itself is forged with the steel of magic, every inch perfectly calculated to contain the power of the gods themselves. The crown gives whoever wears it superhuman abilities.

Manufacturing process

First the angles needed to be calculated to the most exact angles. Any one mistake and the crown would not be magic. Then, once the angles were calculated, the Crown needed to be forged out of cold steel (a rare substance that is only found in the Mistpeak Mountains) and hammered out in those exact angles. Once it cooled, the gems needed to be inserted and the crown would need to be warmed up and cooled again.
