Session 17 Recap

General Summary

Our crew picks up on the 29th of Kythorn, the party finishes their talk with Laylin. Deciding to restrain her in the holding cell until her condition lowers. Her choice to keep her pact sits a bit heavy with the Captain and Helion but continue on. The ship takes off and heads back to Bral. On their journey back they encounter a starlight apparition, a being of pure radiant light. They peer into Lottie's thoughts and inform her that they are growing close to the body of a dead god, Baal to be exact. Lottie thanks the being for the warning and adjusts their course. Just before making it back to the Rock, Laylin manages to capture Rhui and drain her life essence and throws her body out of the ship. This was unseen by the rest of the crew until Rai catches a glimpse of the body. Helion and Captain bring her back on the ship and Helion performs an autopsy, determining Rhui must've left the ship without the suit. A eulogy is performed by Captain and the body of our departed marshal is launched from the cannon and smeared across a nearby asteroid with expert marksmanship from Rai. The Captain spends time by himself drinking in solice. 
On Bral the party splits up to get a few objectives completed, the planetary express gets unloaded at the Sendaith Lines and Spixi parts with the group, Valtish takes over as the temp navigator. Punkin goes to visit her family, her Nona demands she eats some food while she visits. And to also bring over Helion. Her mom joins in and then tells Punkin she has to join her in going to the market for the sale they are running. Rai after dropping off the split horn of the Nightmare to Blastworth being rewarded 800gp. Lottie and Valkyrie head to the market stalls to have fun and shop, and Valtish continues to show off his power by fighting in the arena. After a single strike from his sword his enemy falls. A slick storm rolls over Bral, the type of rain is oily and smells of extra strong menthal. The crew takes cover but unfortunate for Rai she slips on the top of a sloped hill just after purchasing some items from a craft store. Sliding down this hill she increases in speed as Maddox comes out of the club to see his partner teleported to the top of the hill again by Valtish, he does this 3 times before finally Rai crashes into Maddox. And after restocking the party takes off the next day. 
Just before the crew's spelljammer departs the A.U.C, the party notices another body floating in the astral sea. After retreaving this angel like creature with red wings and Helion provides a bit of healing. The creature wakes up, unsure where they are. After a conversation they mention their God is the dawnlord. Helion welcomes them and offers aid, they decline and prepare to leave. Black metal armor shimmers over their body as they take off heading in the direction of Kragstrux. The captain recals a devil called a Arinae that wore black plate armor and had crimson wings. They were powerful creatures and avoiding conflict would be best. 
In the Astral Sea, our party encounters a titan of a dragon. It's size bigger than that of an ancient, it's power rivaled that of Chronalis in his prime. A silver ascended dragon lifts the ship in the palm of his hand and turns it to look at him. He greets them saying: "Salutations, I am Shadrix Silverquil. The multiverses greatest bard." and creates a miniature version of himself as a half dragon. Helion asks him if in his travels he has heard of the blood of Lathander, Shadrix recals hearing about the temple somewhere in the Arboria plane. He asks the group to share any stories of their adventures. After everyone tells all the stories they had... Chris fucking Woods-Ewing goes ahead and rolls a 100. Shadrix extremely pleased will all the stories they've provided him he leaves them 100,000gp. His smaller self gets absorbed back into his true form and heads further into the cosmos. 
We then see the party coming across a wizards tower floating in the astral sea. It seems well kept but after Punkin investigates it the building largely seems uninhabited as of recently. They try knocking with no reply so the group lets themselves in. After a brief look around the room a human male exits the kitchen. He claims he is definetly the owner and his name is "Larry the Human.", he has an unusual conversation back and forth with the crew before he asks to go on the spelljammer. This whole time Valtish is having to read his mind and watch the end of an entire universe and the death of everything. On the ship Helion senses a present slightly similar to Lathander and rushes to see what is the source. Larry the Human insists he is just a normal human and carries off on his own accord.
Closing in on Toril the party encounters another stary cluster that takes the form of a human, it's searching for the worlds greatest warrior. A fight breaks out between it and Valtish. Valtish quickly bests it but a surge of powerful magic errupts from his sword. It kills Lottie and nearly kills the rest. Helion revives Lottie and heals the others. Valtish is asked to show his technique off directly on the captain. He instantly teleports and does critical damage to both Helion and the Captain. Helion and the Captain start heavily questioning Valtish, Captain casts Zone of Truth on him and forces the truth out of him. Valtish is a spellcaster who can't always control his magic. His constant training in his room is both to better disguise his techniques and also reign in his magic. After investigating his sword they discover a hollow handle with a shard inside. There is an inscription inside with a double sided arrow saying "power, maximum power". Apparently Laylin had a scroll of identify on her person and uses it to discover it's a Feywild shard, with the position it was in causing a wild magic surge every time he used magic. In the lesser position the wild magic only surges when he uses meta magic. 
We pick back up on the 20th of Eleasis, the planitary express is about to land on Faerun at the port of Waterdeep.
