Session 5 Recap
The session starts off with the crew gathered around the table enjoying breakfast and going over a course of action. Captain Rolfe sections the group to go and make their final preparations before takeoff. Spixi and Rhui gather the needed rations while Punkin, Lottie, and Rai go to the Ulfrik family manor to inform them they will be about 20 days out before they can accept their quest. Captain and Helion go to the temple district to pick up their transport client Gunvor.
Our crew sets off back into the sea of stars were Shul of the Emerald Sun returns to pick up her Wyrmling Dwiin-Govoldeim (Steel Fortress) and rewarding the crew 200pp for protecting her young. The mood set high they decide to finally set on an official name for themselves: The Planitary Express Gang, or The P.E.G's for short. The newly named Peggers continued their travel towards Lunaria when a cosmic maelstrom strikes. The crew thrown about the ship as the colossal storm was expertly guided by Lottie as she prevents the ship from taking damage, however, the vision was obstructed by the silvery mist and a massive asteroid was about to impact the ship before going into a wormhole. Traveling billions and trillions of miles into the unknown before exiting the wormhole and abruptly crashing into the surface of a planet and every member going unconscious.
One by one each member wakes up after the impact to the view of a buried heavily damaged haul. Captain and Helion are the first to test the new unknown environment. By learning the air is breathable our crewmates explore the wreckage site for information of their location. The crash site being a campsite of a small group of adventurers. The remnants being a carriage of supplies and a note explaining to deliver it to a nearby town called Phandalin. Now our Peggers take the place of these recently departed travelers and make way to the small village.
After quick work of a poor goblin ambush the Peggers arrive in Phandalin. Emlar Barthen thanks them for their delivery of the supplies and mentions the town is having troubles caused by a band of bandits known as Redbrand Ruffians. These Ruffians were known to kidnap, steal, murder, and all other sorts of crimes. Their official hideout was unknown to Emlar but he did know they visit the Sleeping Giant taphouse often. Sure enough 4 of the ruffians were quickly dispatched and reported to the Townmaster, the man eagerly requested the Peggers to rid Phandalin of the Redbrand Ruffians.
Remarkably as they arrived at the hideout of the ruffians, Punkin was already there snooping around the place. And after some minor scuffage with the local thug population, our groups gunslinger Rai decides to ring the dinner bell and calls all the enemies of the lair to the cavern they are in and a proper fight breaks out. And even though they were heavily outnumbered the crew took them all down. Going to the chamber of the leader and revealing his accidental death. Murdered by his own boobytrap, a horrid way to go.
We end the session with the crew clearing out all the loot of the hideout and learning of a bigger threat known as "The Black Spider". A person seeking dwarvish maps depicting the location of the Forge of Spells in the lost mines of Phandelver. There holds a weapon known as the Lightbringer, a mace weapon designed to carry the light and power of the Dawnlord.
