Session 8 Recap

The session starts awaking on the chilly morning of the 24th of Hammar. Our Peggers note that Punkin had left in the midst of night. Helion received a vision, sharing images of their bard Laylin in danger. The Lady of the Black Veil has captured her and is holding her hostage. Captain issues that the party splits, Lottie leads Helion and Rai to find the Wave Echo Cave and Valtish returns to the ship to make sure their passenger doesn't steal it. Captain, Rhui, and Spixi head off to Thundertree to save Laylin.
The ruins of Thundertree prove very trivial to the group, twig blights and ash zombies struck down with little effort from the trio. Eventually making it to a building containing an old human male named Reidoth, his sassy carefree attitude and consistant warnings notifies the party of the types of threats in the town and the location of the Lady in Blacks hideout. He then gave Rhui a sick burn before locking his door and leaving the group to their own acord. The Peggers arrived at the barricaded fortress long abandonded by it's original inhabitants, now residing the torturer of Laylin. They enter the home, alerting the resident, and arrive to the room to find Laylin bound and beaten with the Lady of the Black Veil no where to be found. Captain undoes her bindings and carries Laylin out the ruined fortress for a young green dragon named Venomfang to land down on them. He was told by LotBV that they were there to still his hord. Once they've made their intentions clear the party is given the opportunity to rest at his tower. There he took on half orc form and Laylin spent the evening with him. 
With Wave Echo Cave located Captain and crew set out to rid the region of the Black Spider and his crew of thugs. They broke through the entrance and began clearing the sections of the cave with speed and determination. Orange Oozes and blighted ghouls are slashed down. Hobgoblins are torched alive. And when the Black Spider is finally located, he is struck down in two blows from the Captain before he has a chance to realize his errors. For being a legendary place the crew took very little time to sort through all the locations and treasure and gaining the Lightbringer for Helion. With the town relieved of all it's problems and the mines now freed Phandalin and The Rockseeker Brothers thank the Peggers for all their efforts and insist that they come back to visit soon. 
We end the session with the crew prepping to head back to space.
