Founding Legend

Long ago there was a powerful Magus that roamed the countryside of The Three River Valley. His power was so great, his mastery so fine that he conquered the 5 Divine Beasts of magic, learning all of their knowledge for himself and constructing a great mystical tower atop Grim’s Hill. From this tower he began to study and to teach the greater mysteries as disciples and students arrived from all corners of Korrune. Before his death the Divine Beast powers began to grow on their own so he constructed great dungeons and hid his powers and knowledge inside to test those who would seek more and to prevent the Divine Beasts who are immortal return to this plane. For if they were to revive then the entire kingdom would be lost to their wrath. The Mason conquered all but one of the Divine Beasts, the last a creature whose true name has been lost to the years he only conquered in death leaving its corpse sleeping buried deep in the mountains of the west.
