Vaz the Architects penultimate creation Divinity made from Magic and Steel. Kal'lidia is tasked with guarding The Masterwork Citadel and its treasures until someone she judges to be worthy come to claim them from her. She was crated with the soul of The architects sick daughter Kallia in hopes that her soul would live on with her. Kallia was cursed by a Yuan-ti demon and her body and soul was decaying into nothing. Vaz in order to save something of his daughter forged Mal'dia with her soul, metal and magics. And in return ka'lidia swore to guard his works. She has but faint memories of the woman she used to be and only occasionally catches glimpses of her past life and memories. 
These memories often bring pain and loneliness that she no longer understands. She has surmised the girl whose soul she possesses was quite sad before her soul was used to give this body life. She wants to leave this place full of nasty memories for this girl and see the outside. But she must guard the Mana Heart making sure it is not used for ill means.
