Lawmaster

Lawmaster is the given title to dwarven keepers of the peace throughout Urgnor and other dwarven settlements. The Lawmaster acts as a kind of Marshal and Chief Investigator solving crimes and capturing wanted criminals. They usually select a team or posse to aid them in dealing out justice according to the Dwarven Book of Laws. There is usually one lawmaster per territory, but occasionally during stressful times multiple are appointed by the clanheads to deal with the surge in crime and restore order. A Lawmasters appointment is for life however and it is a responsibility not easily put aside. A Lawmaster that breaks his oath to the Clanheads, or is found to have abused his power is often executed and his family disinherited by dwarven society and sent into exile.
