Protocol Omega
Malware has many, many protocols, and this is their safety net one. When feeling compromised or when their databases are attacked, Malware initiates Protocol Omega to immediately cut off any external access to their hard drives while frantically disguising their lair as a casual teen hangout (featuring board games, pot remnants, and poptart crumbs scattered over the floor.) While Malware developed Protocol Omega as part of a vast library of security, offensive, and defensive techniques, they rarely have to deploy them and have not taken steps to actually *practice* protocols before they are needed. After an embarrassing moment of panic during the most recent use of the protocol, they have determined to run drills on all their protocols once they finally get some alone time in the lair.
History
Styx absolutely loved reading heist novels as a kid, and loved the complex systems and steps the criminals would put in place to pull off their goals. While they have never themselves initiated a complete heist, they were happy to bring some of that flavor into their alphabetically organized protocols and procedures. While most are focused on reaction to a threat, some are.... not. (Protocol Pi, for example, triggers a complex system of levers, pullies, and elevators to a secret entrance into the backroom of a nearby bakery. Styx initiates this only at the most dire of times - when they are out of pie.)
Execution
Somewhere in the Spiderweb's mainframe, Styx has meticulously recorded every step of their protocols. They have also printed out a hardcopy that is hidden inside of a spring-loaded panel in the lair, along with Styx's most vital documents and data (including an extra external harddrive and cache of nanobots.) Styx oscillates between diving deep into the complexities and details of every procedure they may need at a given time, and refusing to look at their security documentation because it stresses them out and "it's fine, I have it under control and frankly anyone who thinks I don't is not welcome in my lair."
