Rubygarden Shipbuilding Company

Rubygarden Shipbuilding Company is the largest employer of shipwrights in Hekros and indeed in Harkenlock. It is located in the Hekrosian Capital, it's headquarters found in the Consonance Court guildhouses district, with several shipbuilding locations along the coast, and a few located outside the city's walls. They are renowned for the quality of their work, but truly their proliferation comes from the firm hold on the market: they are known to buy out smaller shipbuilding companies before they can gain a foothold.

History

The company made some recent controversy in the year 404 ME. They were accused on using their hold on the market to produce ships with cheaper materials and quality, and selling them at full cost. They were taken to trial on a citizens' petition, and the standing judge ruled in their favor in fear that Rubygarden would use abuse their power and reduce the quality of Hekros's citizens' fleet as well as her naval armada.
Laws were established that subjected the company to rigorous quality standards in addition to harsh punishment to any managerial positions involved in producing poor quality vessels at a higher price. These laws still allowed for the creation of cheaper ships, however, so long as they were categorized as such and this information was not withheld from purchasers.
