Town Bell - Netherborn
In the nether, very few things are consistent.
The lava lakes are always full, soul valleys weigh the spirit, and the bell's rings bring blessings.
Each clan has a golden bell, stationed in the center of the camp at all times no matter the movement. The bell is not something that is crafted by the clan but has been passed down through so many generations the knowledge wasn't used. To create a bell is to start a clan, and believed by some to denounce relations with your prior clan and kin.
The bell serves as a focal point of the community and a call to those around it to listen. It is believed that by ringing the bell, the spirits of one's ancestors that watch over will pay attention and listen to their call as well, and potentially bring blessings.
Bells are used to ring in the new fortune, whether unions or births or passings, and celebrate any blessings encountered. To ring a bell is to call to the spirits and say "I am here, I am celebrating, celebrate with me."
To steal a bell is to enrage the living and dead of an entire clan at minimum, and if anyone learns of the theft they will do their best to get the bell back to its original owner at all costs, and will not host the thief a moment longer. To destroy a bell is to destroy the history of bloodlines and formed relations, the stories of countless lives lost to the sands of time and souls. To destroy a bell is to doom all of its clan to be bound to the soul sands, to be trampled and forgotten as anything more than a foothold. To destroy a bell is to create endless enemies of any netherborn, living or dead.
Bells are highly valued, but are highly protected around foreigners who might be careless with customs.
