Ley-lines

Ley-lines are metaphysical seams of magical energy that run across all of Crathlond. They are invisible to the naked eye, yet someone who's got the gift to harness this invisible energy can learn to sense the presence of these arcane lines. The ley-lines is what allow a magi to control their inherent ability, although magic can be used in an uncontrolled manner without tethering to the ley-lines.

The occurrence of the ley-lines is said to be a gift from the God of Magic, Alonsus, as a way for mere mortals to be able to wield part of his power and discover its secrets. A "key to the future" as some researchers have dubbed it.
