Changelings are a secretive bunch, almost always hidden in plain sight. For you see, Changelings hide their true faces with ones of their own making (or ones they decided to steal.) They are blessed with the ability to shapeshift and create as many forms as they desire, as long as they have the same body layout.
Due to their appearances and unfortunate bunches of bad apples, many carry a bias against Changelings. As such, most Changelings walk around with a Veil instead of their true form. Some, though, have been lucky enough to find a place where they feel safe enough to drop the Veil and be open.

Anatomy
Changeling have a fluid anatomy, thanks to their ability to shapeshift. However, all shapeshifters have a face under the mask, and this is the true form of a Changeling.
Changelings are tetrapodal humanoids, with elven ears and long, thin leonine tails. Their eyes naturally lack any iris or pupil, though some may choose to give themselves some; these fake pupils will always be unnaturally dilated, taking up a good portion of the eye. They lack any physical sex features, picking whatever they desire to manifest as they grow older. Their body is also naturally segmented.
Their faces are covered in unnatural shadows, likely magically manifested. These shadows can extend to only just below the eye or to extend as far as their neck. This varies from Changeling to Changeling.

Young Changelings don't age much different than you'd expect from other humanoid species of Crauwlacha, besides the whole shapeshifting thing.

Dietary Needs and Habits
As with most things for Changelings, their diet is also rather flexible and fluid. Whatever they can shapeshift their guts to digest, they'd be able to eat. They're extreme omnivores, through and through.

Naming Traditions
Changelings have no true traditions for names, just picking whatever name they've heard which fits their children best... Though, sometimes they might name their child after their favorite Veil in some odd sense of honoring it. Veil Naming is also the only way a Changeling would come into possession of a last name, besides marriage that is.
Changelings will also decide even more names for themselves later on in life for their Veils, usually copied off observed naming traditions of the species they're looking to make the Veil.

Common Customs, Traditions and Rituals
Due to discrimination, Changelings picked up the practice of making Veils. Veils, also known as Personas or Masks by non-changelings, are a fake identity and form made to hide their true nature from the world. Some Veils are simple, surface level in nature, usually made to quickly throw away; other Veils may be extremely detailed and be their go-to face.
Changelings typically find it taboo to wear the face of others, be they alive or dead. Unless it's for espionage purposes, all their Veils are strictly sculpted by themselves from scratch.

Changelings, as far as history is concerned, appeared from nowhere. No one being ever credited themselves for their creation, and no scientist has been able to find common ancestors just yet. It almost seems like they simply just manifested thousands of years ago.
Historians and scientists insanely curious about finding out more about their history and how they came to be, especially those of the Changeling kind. Many of them wonder if this is a case of a forgotten history, or if they truly did just appear one day.
