Snowcreepers

Nightcrawlers, though colloquially known as Snowcreepers, are odd yet charming little creatures which roam the snow peaks of Roaring Summits. Many people find these creatures very charming, as they are quite friendly and curious by nature.

Snowcreepers do not have a natural fear of predators, seeing as they are the only animals within their natural habitats. This makes them easily predated, if new creatures were introduced to their environment they would likely be wiped out instantly.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Snowcreepers are a very simple species. They only have two limbs, a pair of legs, which necessitates a bipedal stance. They lack much of a real torso, instead simply transitioning into their comparatively small head.

They have extremely soft fur, designed to mimic the snow of their natural habitat, and very sensitive whiskers. They also have large eyes, and rather small mouths.

Ecology and Habitats

Interestingly, Snowcreepers can optimally live anywhere! However, they're only naturally found within the peaks of the Roaring Summits, due to the lack of any predators.

Groups of Snowcreepers can also be found within city streets during the night if they manage to escape an owner's home- Which brings us to mention that they can genuinely thrive just as well within a home! They even seem to deeply enjoy being pampered and living with new sights.

Dietary Needs and Habits

Snowcreepers are strict herbivores, eating magic rich plants in their natural habitats. However, when in any other area, they'll happily eat fruit, grass, and any other plant (at the cost of their innate magic becoming much weaker)

Additional Information

Average Intelligence

Snowcreepers are clever little creatures, getting very excited when they solve puzzles or learn new things!

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

Snowcreepers's hearing is... rather poor, to be kind to the poor creatures. They can hear basic sounds if loud enough, but that's the extent of their hearing abilities. Now in contrast to that, they have amazing sight due to how huge their eyes are.

Another important sensory ability of the Snowcreeper is their massive, sensitive whiskers. These help them feel what they don't spot, as well as properly find their way around in the dark.

Snowcreepers seem to possess some kind of innate air magic, which allows them to not get swept away by the violent winds and breathe just fine in the thin air.

I love your little snowcreepers! They are adorable! I'd love to know why they are near threatened as a conservation status and what the average citizen's reaction to them is.   Would you mind if I read your article aloud on my Twitch stream and recorded the reading for you?

Why thank you! And I'd be honored, go ahead! I've never had someone ask that before, so please link the VOD if you do ^^   They're near threatened due to a very low wild population, as well as their extremely percarious living situation. One stray invasive species could honestly wipe them out, they're just lucky their habitat is basically unlivable.   On the average citizen's reaction, they'd probably be weirded out. They aren't too well known, and even if they're cute they're sort of uncanny to the uninitiated. However, Fresca Towneship is pretty desensitized considering they live near their natural habitat and have a higher population of pet Snowcreepers.

I've been reading them aloud on twitch, then editing them and posting to Youtube with a screenshot of the article and a link with credits to the article. If that ok with you? I will probably read it Friday (8/19) on my stream.
