Caleadan - Arcanic
Now partially extinct, Caleadan was an ancient language developed during the first flourishing of Human civilization around 800 BFR, focused in the three city-states of Calead: Cir, Tarn, and Tanos. The language survived through the Age of Founding but was eventually culled after the Caleaden Crusades of 1770, orchestrated by the Voran Empire. The Magewives, after re-founding the Republic of Calead following the successful Revolt of 2164-2165 AFR, decided to maintain Eovoresh as Calead's official language. This seemed curious to many scholars, but the Magewives' intent became clear to a select few in the Acadeum when they realized that the Eight Mageriarchs had magically obscured the origins and usage of Caleadan. Under the Mageriarchs, the language had clandestinely morphed into Arcanic, which had been used as a secret code by powerful magic-users across Creacia for centuries. Many now believe that this was an attempt to frustrate the Acadeum's understanding of the goings-on amongst the Mageriarchs and the upper echelons of the Archmages.
Not much is known of Arcanic outside of the arcane community, except that it uses the Draconic Script in a magical cipher, unintelligible unless the interpreter is a grandmaster linguist or has some magic ability to understand the code, resisting any spell of understanding below fourth level. Because of its magical nature and obfuscations, it can only be taught (and learned) in Tarn.
