Erudite
Descendants of the lost people of Hycis, Erudites are an ancient ethnicity that has since spread across Creacia in a great diaspora. Their main homeland remains in the high peaks and jagged coastlines of Galdeum, and Erudites make up the majority of the Chroniclers of the Acadeum.
With skin ranging from light caramel to dark brown, often exhibiting golden pupils, Erudites are some of the tallest Humans on Creacia, averaging more than six feet but commonly reaching upwards of 6' 6". Women are often just as tall as men, and mostly have very similar thin yet toned builds, with extremely long, delicate fingers. Men are born completely bald and remain so throughout their lifetime; most Erudite women keep their hair shorn close to the scalp, or shave their heads completely to be tattooed with sigils, runes, or spirals of poetry along with men.
Unlike other Humans, all Erudites are born as twins--always one male and one female--and many pairs remain inseparable until death, following near exact parallel paths. Called Zygos, these twins have a powerful psychic bond and can communicate emotions and even complex ideas telepathically. Many of the High Chroniclers of the Acadeum are Zygos, using their innate connection to work as one, yet with twice the brainpower. However, sometimes this bond goes awry--when one dies before the other, or by some other tragedy of separation--causing the survivor to go insane with grief. It is such an episode that is thought to have caused the Burning of Hycis and the effective end of the Hycin people.
Considered master linguists, almost all Erudites speak at least Eovoresh, Aeonesti, and Arenundim. The Acadeum writes everything in Eovoresh, though using the Hycin Alphabet.
