The Nightqueen - Eloseth - The Taker
The Nightqueen--known as Eloseth in Elven and as the Taker in most languages--is a massive, light purple planet with three satellites orbiting it at different constant distances, all in synchronous rotation: the Keeper (the innermost), Creacia, and the Watcher. Since the Centerlands of Creacia are on the 'dark side' of the moon (the exact center is Torag’s Eye), the Nightqueen never appears on the horizon until the observer moves farther from the center. From northern Koth, Skyre to the southwest, or Feorleon to the east, the edge of the Nightqueen appears as an gargantuan, perfectly rounded lavender hill moving along the horizon, infusing the night sky with an eerie lavender glow. The farther one travels into the Vasts of Creacia, the more dominant the Nightqueen becomes in the sky, both day and night. When one reaches the Floating Isles--exactly opposite Torag's Eye--the purple planet is always directly overhead, taking up the vast majority of the sky. The immense gravitational pull of the Nightqueen causes the partial antigravity near the Nexus, lifting the oceans in a majestic inverted whirlpool below the slowly rotating, rainforest-covered flying mountains, a wondrous sight very few creatures have witnessed. The same gravity is responsible for the huge tides of Creacia and much of its volcanic activity.
Not much is known of the surface of the planet, as it is covered in hundreds of miles of thick, noxious gases, which also provide it the swirling purple hue. It is therefore believed to be uninhabited except for denizens of the Abyss and other outsiders. Scholars now believe that the Iron Dragons, infamous steeds of the Knights of Nethereth now thought to be extinct, originated from the Nightqueen, as well as raezstal, the magical metal of their scales. There are innumerable myths and legends about the Nightqueen, though since it is not visible from most of the inhabited lands of Creacia, most have never seen anything of it except a vague violet glow on the horizon at night. Many theologians now assert that it is the primary source of evil divinity in the cosmos, and is the physical force that caused the Fireshard to crash into what is now the Sea of Shards, catalyzing the First Ruination.
