Malkwell/Yimalkin

Malkwell is the native continent of the silver skinned Malkin. It was the first continent subjugated by the Rennon after the Lasskyr Age of Exploration. Part of that subjugation was renaming the continent from it's original "Yimalkin."
It is one of the Lowered Lands with an enormous saline sea in the middle surrounded by salt flats, making the entire center of the continent mostly uninhabitable. It has a major port in the northeast that is under Rennon control. This is where most of the minerals that are extracted by Rennon and Lasskyr merchant houses are shipped out.
Only recently have the Malkin began to push against the centuries of oppression. For now it is peaceful and respectful, controlled by the very Malkin families that have grown rich off the current system. There are rumors of clandestine organizations meeting and planning but nothing of any substance has been confirmed yet.

Home continent of the Malkin.  Named by Ennon invaders about 500 years ago.  There's a current push to return to the old ways with language and culture.  A push to rename the continent Yimalkin, which means Land of the People, is gaining strength and many newer maps have both names on them.
