The Center

The center of the continent of Palan Voyd.  Ages ago, before the destruction of The Arcanum Wars, the Voy Diurne turned their collective societal efforts towards using Arcanum to create and craft the most wonderous things they could imagine.  This of course went terribly wrong.
Unlike the Lasskyr who sought true knowledge about Creation and wanted a connection to the Great God through the use of Arcanum, the Voy wanted to take the act of creation all to themselves.  What resulted was an ever increasing competition to make the best monument or building, the most impressive artwork, or the most fantastic creature.  By the time of the Arcanum Wars, the experiments and creations began to take over their creators and a wave of horrors, called the Lar Voyattara, were unleashed across the continent.  Magical beasts and deadly geography grew too frequent and too powerful.  Only the creation of the Palan Ranger force saved the continent from destruction.
Part of the Arcanum Wars was the confinement of the Lar Voyattara to the center of Palan Voyd.  As such, most of the maps of The Center are no longer accurate due to lingering Arcanum effects.  The Rennon continue to fund the Palan Rangers since they keep the edges of the continent clear for resource extraction.  The Voy shift opinions on how much blame to take for their ancestor's misdeeds but are now mostly content to allow the middle of their continent to remain lost to them.
