The Skyshatter Bolt is a powerful single-use air-to-ground missile, designed by the ancient artificers during the First Age. This rare artifact is crafted from the finest magical materials and inscribed with intricate patterns of Essence, enabling it to harness the raw power of the elements. When activated, the missile launches from its caster's hand or an appropriate artifact launcher, spiraling through the air and producing a thunderous sonic boom before it collides with its target. The Skyshatter Bolt detonates upon impact, releasing a devastating burst of elemental energy that can level structures and decimate enemy forces.

Special Abilities:
Elemental Affinity: Before launching the Skyshatter Bolt, the wielder may spend 1 mote of Essence to attune the missile to a specific element (Air, Earth, Fire, Water, or Wood). The missile's damage will be of the chosen elemental type, and it gains a thematic secondary effect depending on the chosen element (e.g., fire may cause a fiery explosion, water may produce a high-pressure blast, etc.).
Armor Piercing: The Skyshatter Bolt is designed to penetrate even the most formidable defenses. It ignores the target's Hardness and subtracts half the target's soak from its damage (rounded down).
Single Use: The Skyshatter Bolt is a single-use artifact. Once it has been activated and launched, it is consumed in the process and cannot be recovered.
Flaw (4-dot): Unstable Essence Core
The Skyshatter Bolt's Essence core is ancient and unstable, making it a volatile and dangerous weapon. After the missile has been attuned to an element, the wielder must roll their (Wits + Occult) with a difficulty of the missile's artifact rating (3 in this case). Failure indicates that the Essence core malfunctions and the Skyshatter Bolt detonates prematurely, causing its damage and elemental effects to manifest at the wielder's location. The wielder and any allies within a close radius will be affected by the explosion, potentially leading to disastrous consequences.
