Outcast Origins

Tharen's history is checkered and spotty at best. From what little Tharen has said or Nias the Quick has let slip he is not from this world. Tharen approached elven clans early on, his upbringing and elven background was very different from the local clans. Tharen was not accepted, which is rare even with foreign elves and he never felt that he fit in. He doesn't speak of the religions or pantheons of his origin world and shuns the elven pantheon of Greyhawk.

Tragic Tales

Apparently Tharen and Nias the Quick met in the village of Hommlet joining an adventuring group to challenge the evils of the land. This unnamed group partially met its end within a great temple to elemental cults. Tharen and Nias the Quick were the only two who escaped. Neither will speak a word of what happened and the unspeakable evils they faced or how they escaped.

Greyhawk & Guards

Theran and Nias the Quick have remained the closest friends, like brothers. They ended their adventuring career and settled within the walls of Greyhawk City. They took odd jobs, day guards, warehouse work, and tavern bouncers just to name a few. Gaining some local fame, both joined the City Watch - Organization taking the opportunity to protect and help the locals of Greyhawk.

Buried Blade

It is unclear the exact details, but at some point Theran made some very specific life choices that revolved around laying down his sword and embracing Heironeous the human god of justice and war. Immediately following this he accepted the position as one of the Executioners for the City Watch, the Magistrate and the Lord Mayor. In his duties as a marshal he uses a crossbow with blunted arrows, a club or his own hands. However upon order of the city he will pick up the headsman's axe to end a life.
