From Under Foot Into Nightmares

Stomp us, stab us, eat us, slice us, roast us, take us.
Flay us, crush us, burn us, poach us, drown us, break us.
Those days are gone now for we have all grown, yes grown.
Not now, not ever, must we survive all on our own.
Rise up my children he says, all of my children, for many are we.
We will take it all, the caverns, the cliffs, the seas.
We will build it, create it, and rise higher than the rest.
For we are clever, endeavors do not seem so hard to best.
We will tinker and test with those eager to try.
They will be stronger, yes stronger, or for our purpose they will die.
Rise up my children he says, all of my children, for many are we.
We will take it all, the caverns, the cliffs, the seas.
We grow bolder and stronger and meaner than thee each day.
It will not be long, no not long, until we call you our prey.
On your flesh we will feast, and leave your bones out to dry.
With your blood we will toast with a garnish of eye.
Rise up my children he says, all of my children, for many are we.
We will take it all, the caverns, the cliffs, the seas.
To this new dawn we delight for it is our fortunate favor.
To have been given ascension, for this we thank our savior.
He has not only given us cunning, but faith and ingenuity too.
An awful kind of eloquence, he has made us tenacious yet shrewd.
Rise up my children he says, all of my children, for many are we.
We will take it all, the caverns, the cliffs, the seas.
You think us beneath you, mere vermin at that.
But tonight is the night you fear the Rat.
