Bacon Bark Bloomhazel

The Bacon Bark Bloomhazel, Corylus Lardum, is a tree the tends to prefer colder climates. The further east or west(polar north and south) one goes the more commonly that Bacon Bark Bloomhazel is found. However, the inverse can also be said. As the closer to the middle that you get the less often it is seen.   The Bacon Bark Bloomhazel it's originally native to the baron wilds of the far East continent of Snowbärren and the far west continent of  Niveis. However, due to the popularity of this tree and it would across the world, they have since become an invasive species.

Appearance and Properties

The Bacon Bark Bloomhazel is a hardwood with dark brown bark that is layered and peels off in fingernail thin layers. The scent of the wood itself is earthy with a hint of porcine meatiness. Surprisingly, the bark of this cold climate loving tree is actually quite edible. It is easily identifiable by its bark's vertical striping nature, similar to that of well-prepared bacon, and by the way that the bark seems to constantly be peeling off of the tree     A lesser known fact about the Bark Birch Bloomhazel is that the tree itself is carnivorous in nature. Although most of its nutrients come from photosynthesis and the nutrients that the roots are able to gather from the soil, they have also been known to grab an entangle passing wild boar and pigs that are in search of truffles amongst their roots. Rumor amongst researchers say that they might even latch onto passing travelers if no wild boar have passed recently.   Due to their carnivorous nature, the taste of the bark, and the fact that it smells like cooking meat when you burn the wood experts were initially concerned that perhaps this was a creature of flesh and blood. The dark red color of the sap when all the bark is peeled off definitely did not help towards that. However, this has since been proven false.   It has been found that in places with a higher population of wild boar, these trees tend to grow much larger than in their native lands.

Uses

The flavour of the bark is similar to that of porcine meats. Similar to pork but with a more earthy palette. Many vegetarians will use the bark of this tree in place of dried meats, such as beef jerky.   Due to the interesting flavour of the bark and the fact that it is completely edible, it is quite often used in a variety of different meals. Many use it and it's ground form as a seasoning, but there are many well-known meals made using the bark in place of or with other meats. Making this an excellent vegetarian option.   Many of the noble families around the world have been known to import this wood. As a dark hardwood it has breathtaking utility in various woodworking ventures, such as furniture. However, the main reason that noble families have a tendency to import this wood is due to the fact that when burnt, it gives off a tantalizing aroma of meat being cooked.

You had me at bacon powder. OMG that's awesome. You should patent that right now RIGHT NOW (shut up and take my money!!!)   Seriously though, great job with this article, if I would do anything it would be to add an image or two. I never grew up and love pictures with my stories! Oh, and where can I order some seeds....? :D

Thank you very much! I wanted to do pictures, but unfortunately, I don't know where to get any. Plus, I was only made aware of the summer camp prompt contest in the last 2 days of it. Not much time to rush articles I'm proud of.

Ah you know, the reading challenge says to leave a little constructive criticism and I didn't see anything I would really change, you did a good job bringing this tree to life so to speak :) I use Midjourney which is subscription based, but when I run out of time on that I usually use Bing AI which for the moment is free, but you do have to use it in the Microsoft Edge browser. There is also aitubo, but they went downhill when they switched from a web based app to a discord service.   For only having two days you did an amazing job, and you definitely should be proud! <3

Thanks again. Man, what a friendly community. Yeah I wish I had known at the beginning of July about the summer camps. I would've like to expand on so many of these prompts and my articles. I use midjourney from time to time but I'm such a perfectionist I dare say I wouldn't have made copper much less get 14 prompts out if I had added art in that time, but I plan on spending time on it when I can edit these again.
