Creskin is an ancient world, well over 10,000 years old. The world has two main continents that, until recently, had no interaction with each other. One continent is known as Etland, where the majority of the first series will take place, the original home of the sorcerers. Similar to America’s colonization, the native sorcerers were slowly forced out of their land and into smaller and smaller pieces of Etland by the arrivals from Jihon. This process was slow and docile for a few years, but then it happened.   Over these years, sorcerers of Etland had slowly gone missing with no explanation. The sorcerers discovered that they were being taken by the colonialists from Jihon, and began a war. The sorcerers were, generally, much more dangerous in combat, due to their connection to the Arcana, the strange, magical, parallel existence where they can manipulate a person’s Essence.   However, the people of Jihon were able to strike back with the emergence of a new group known as the Mindful. The Mindful were somehow invisible in the Arcana, and could not be manipulated, as if they had no Essence. This gave them a massive upper hand in combat against the sorcerers, considering the sorcerers had previously had no reason to fight physically before.   The sorcerers were already being beaten when the fog appeared.   The continent of Jihon experienced a massive explosion unlike any before. The entire continent was taken over by a low, rolling cloud of fog in a matter of minutes. Strange beasts began to appear in the fog, and the people of Jihon were forced to escape to Etland. More importantly though, the sorcerers lost their powers that came from the Arcana, and the Mindful were able to defeat them in a matter of weeks.   Now, Etland’s sorcerers have been forced to the continent’s nearly uninhabitable western coast, and the immigrants from Jihon are creating a new start. Massive cities already dot the landscape from the sorcerer’s time in charge, but the more political nature of Jihon has forced some major changes. New, large forts were built for the city's elites, including a massive castle at the center of Verton, the kingdom’s new capital, and the largest metropolis to ever exist.
