Townmaster's Hall

Standing prominently in Phandalin with its sturdy stone walls and pitched wooden roof, the Townmaster's Hall is a pillar of town governance and local administration. The building, complete with a bell tower at the back, serves as a focal point for town affairs and community gatherings.

Function and Structure

Though Phandalin lacks a formal government, the Townmaster's Hall plays a crucial role in maintaining order and handling civic duties. A job board located outside the hall is a common sight for townsfolk seeking work or news. Inside, the hall is equipped to serve as a venue for minor judicial matters and record-keeping, a necessary function in the daily life of the town.

Current Townmaster: Harbin Wester

The current townmaster, Harbin Wester, is a male human who was once a banker. Described as a fat, pompous old fool by some, Harbin's tenure has been marked by a somewhat controversial and lackadaisical approach to leadership. Despite this, he dutifully manages minor disputes and keeps important town records, a testament to the democratic process of the town.

The Town Jail

Beneath the hall lies a small but serviceable jail, consisting of two cells. Harbin Wester himself holds the keys to these cells, a symbol of his authority and responsibility in maintaining law and order in Phandalin, however loosely it may be interpreted under his watch.

"As Townmaster of Phandalin, I assure you that order and prosperity reign supreme under my watchful eye, despite what the naysayers might claim."

— Harbin Wester
