Golemite
Thousands of the oak trees of Casway were animated by a curse of [Zoulouthan] and became the horrid tree ents, huge sentient creatures seeking to crush out humanoid life in the region. The region worst effected by the ents' appearance was the valley of the [Sun Elves(species)] who were cut off from the outside supply lines and bombarded with logs and boulders thrown down from the cliffs above. To bolster their numbers elven artificers created the Golemites, living constructs brought to life by the expunged hearts of tree ents.
Golemite bodies may be composites of stone, metal, or wood often with crystal or glass eyes and always containing a heartwood core to bring them to life. Without any genetic norm they have the greatest diversity of any known species with some resembling 7ft tall faceless iron statues and others looking nearly human. Gender and family are quite alien concepts to most golemites but those who discover them are free to choose their meaning. Their bodies are healed through mending spells and can be modified in ways an organic would struggle to survive, from having fingertips replaced with tools to having weapon implants. These living constructs are sentient and free, their largest numbers being in the elven valley.
