Researchers believed for centuries that Orfiens were a religious group, not a distinct species. In her writing, Cathaleen Garamund described a group of corpses that had lost all trace of humanity. Milo Klein affirms it, and the Crooked Mile Circle concurs with the notion. The Orfiens shifted from the human tier to becoming potential food for the Crusthoulians and subjects of the Shadows, a shapeshifting thieves' cult.
