A Devout Vegetarian, Jack Never Harmed a Man, Woman or Beast
Blackheart Jack was Queen Cirsea's Curses Cirsea’s crow’s nest pirate. She was also her confidante and escort when she needed a date for the Wizard & Demi-god Perpetual Seas Ball. Other times, he did her bidding for her.
On the night of July 19, 1093 BCE, he intentionally ran around on the northernmost island, later known as Dead Holler. For the year preceding Jack’s shipwreck, she lured thousands of Crusthoulians to the shores by starving them. When the crusty crabs finally made it ashore, she fed them battle lost corpses until the fateful morning in July when Jack deliberately stuck his boat.
The crew scrambled ashore after being told there was no need to rush repairs. Instead, the pirates should loot the doubloon treasure chests left there by lost tourists. It was a lie. The island couldn’t be accessed by lost tourists. Even now the isle is covered with a thick foul smell mist. But there were plenty of fresh Crusthoulians waiting to be cooked over a blazing fire.
What Jack did not tell the pirates is that the Cirsea Crusthoulians were recently infected with zocephalan parasites. The zocephalans appreciate boarding a crab’s back, and the crab is hospitable, but the eaters of the crab got very ill and died. Meanwhile, Jack watched the barbecue from the crow’s nest, thinking all the while how delicious a crab meal sounded. Until he saw the mess the pirates made.
When Jack returned home to , Otherwhere, Queen Cirsea gave him a hero’s welcome. She promoted him to “legend,” the foremost position a pirate could earn. At the end of the evening, after listening to his last sea tale, she walked him to the end of the plank and pushed him over into a sea of sharks. Since she was a heartbroken, nearly forgotten ghost, she demanded he be one too. However, he never vaporized into a ghost or a ghoul. Much to her dismay, he became a bigger legend than she did. He is actually dead.
