Iben Ironright (I-BEN IRON-RITE)

Commander

Commander Iben Ironright is the military commander of the Vaneesh gaurd, sworn to defend the Crown, Lord Governor and local people (in that order). He is a strong willed man who is reasonable enough to hear out another viewpoint, but too strict to stray from lawful action. As head of the guard, Iben is sworn to obey the crown law while maintaining order in the city.

Physical Description

General Physical Condition

Iben is old but strong. In his youth he once knocked a cow unconscious with a single blow. He would like to think he could still do such a thing easily. His physical frame is wide and sturdy with a bearded jaw to match. He is always dressed in finer cloths or armors and well groomed.

Personal history

Iben has served the Vangash Crown since youth. His younger years found in the Silver Port guard where he earned many awards of honor in service. Working his way up social ladders he eventually became stationed in Vaneesh as a low ranking officer. Over the years he gained a family and reputation for honorable conduct and professionalism. For the last 15 years he has served as the head of the Vaneeshian Guard as Commander.

Motivation

Iben is well known for his public views on law and order. He believes man is wise enough to maintain its own order and that the crown law is the truest code worth following. He respects Gods and wishes no issue with them, but he also rationalizes them as a great danger to orderly society. He runs his city by the book and he cares very much for the people of his city.

Contacts & Relations

The players have been recently "temporarily" been deputized by Iben due to a supernatural incident at the barracks within Vaneesh. They are currently issued to help identify and understand all magical or demonic threats to the Crown.

Iben is not religious and finds men to have enough wisdom to live without them interfering. He sees Gods as dangerous and unpredictable. He prefers things simple and easy to understand- finding both magic and divine powers to be usually troublesome.

Iben is of course wealthy with a large home, personal luxuries and access to finer things that he does enjoy freely. His coffers contain a hefty sum of both coin and gems collected over his years in service to the crown.
