Cryptoarcana

With the advent of creatures and abilities beyond human comprehension, the human race did what it does best - condensed the magical and cutting edge into something to be bought and doled out. Big Pharma companies condensed, rose, and fell over the next decade based entirely on the sales of arcane ability. Abilities that they claim have no negative effects on the human form. Though anyone who has taken the Cryptoarcana for too long, or God-forbid without their Limiter, will tell you that is a lie.   Some take the Cryptoarcana for good reason - monsters roam the dark corners of the Earth now, their predation of the human race kept only in check by those brave enough to take the drugs and stand up for their fellow humans. But the power of magic is intoxicating, and even when you know that you shouldn't... just one more hit couldn't hurt.
