Places of Worship
With the existence of gods being a fact, there are places where one could go to pay the required respect to the gods. And although some think that paying respect to such a powerful being is of little use, the simple acts of devotion which differ per individual and per god won’t go unnoticed by others of one's faith, which in turn could lead to a sense of community and the support of the like-minded followers of their faith, and those that devote much of their lives are often granted divine powers, acting as the extension of their patron.
Prime Gods, Bastions of Existence:
It is uncommon for a larger city to not have a building known as a bastion of existence. These large buildings are made from the hardest granite which makes up their foundation and the lower part of the walls thus resembling a mountainous ridge. The rest of the building is made from the strange sky-blue glass known as Etrëal. These two aspects symbolize Dariël and Cawelt. These buildings seemingly grow straight out of the ground, growing over time as the settlement does. No two bastions of existence are the same as small flaws always sneak into the creation of these buildings, the touch of Slyduhl. These large buildings feature a large central room, a single door is common, but more is possible. On larger buildings the interior becomes more complex, featuring multiple side rooms adhering to a circular pattern, on rare occasions the bastions sprout side buildings. Whenever one seeks the guidance of the prime gods or their devotees, one only needs to find the bastion of existence.- Dariël's Observers: A small group of observers who provide basic housing for other observers coming through have close ties with the community as a whole.
- The Chosen of Cawelt: The men and women who ensure the order is maintained around the religious buildings and faiths, they're stationed at the hearth of the bastion of existence.
- Those Touched by Slyduhl: Single individuals with greater knowledge about the world that their appearance might imply, serve as advisors and Oracles to those who seek their knowledge, but only when chaos decides the request if to be honored.
Elder Gods, Temples to the Ancients:
With the Elder gods embodying major elements of the natural world, all major settlements feature places of worship devoted to these six elder-gods. These buildings represent the power of these religions in that region, with more devoted faiths featuring more ornate and bigger buildings, proving guidance, faith, and services to those in need. These buildings are commonly called temples, rooted in tradition. These temples almost always surround the bastion of existence., In smaller settlements, it's not uncommon for only a few of these faiths to have a dedicated place of worship.Godlings, Shrines to those that walk among us:
Faith to the godlings is far more personal and more localized. They're seen as minor aspects but in many cases, they're far more involved in the lives of the common folk. The god which stands for storms and weather, Kydrus will have a far more obvious impact on the lives of the common man compared to the god of magic, Itzehiel. In large settlements obviously all the godlings are worshiped as the wide diversity people walk its streets, but in smaller settlements, only those with a direct bearing to those living get worshiped. These places of worship are called Shrines. In all but a few occasions, these places of worship are outshone by the Temples of the Elder-gods, as these attract a more "basic" devotion or more powerful patrons.
