Ariah Nekrani
(Player character of Vilde)
Early Life
She comes from a family of farmers, and spent the first part of her life enjoying the quiet, but hard-working life of a farmer in the quiet village of Bowshot. Her family consists of her father Hafiz Nekrani, her mother Nerida Nekrani, her older brother Jarek Nekrani and her younger brother Leto Nekrani. The Attack on Bowshot
A few years ago a terrible monster attacked her village, nearly destroying it and the people who calls it home. The powerful monster hunter Rudolph van Richten came to their aid, saving the village from ruin. He explained to Ariah that the monster had been after her, and would return to hunt her down. Although he was light on the detalis, Ariah suspects it has something to do with her being an aasimar. Rudolph took Ariah under his wing and became her mentor, teaching her how to hunt monsters and how to protect herself from her persecutor. Through her mentor she briefly met Esmerelda.Protection from the Monster
To prevent the monster from finding her, she must perform a ritual every morning and evening. Her magical pendant is used during the ritual, given to her by Rudolph. It makes people forget the wearer's identifiable features after being away from her for over a day. The ritual requires focus that is hard to achieve without a strong sense of safety, something that has been lacking since the disappearance of Rudolph.Behavioural Consequeces
With her family always around growing up, the sound and presence of people became a source of comfort for her. During the attack on the village, Ariah found herself isolated and scared. After that experience, she has found herself feeling the same fear whenever she is alone, as the experience gave her a phobia of being alone (Autophobia). Due to being constantly on the run from what is hunting her, she is paranoid about being found. The rituals and her pendant help with this somewhat, however it is still evident in some of her behaviours. For example, she have trouble sleeping with lights, such as lamps or candles, still illuminated. Any source of light will keep her awake unless extinguished or unless they are very faint, such as moonlight.Religion
After the attack, Ariah found solace in her divine connection to Ilmater.
