The Gallows Outside the Village of Barovia

An old gallows and a small graveyard are just outside of town. One part of the graveyard has older tombstones. All of the graves appear to bare female elf names. Many of these names are antiquated and out of fashion among younger elves (100-300 year old elves). In the center of the graves is one large stone with the origin story of the graves. This form of elvish is very old but you can roughly translate.

“Slain in retribution for crimes against their kin. May those of their ilk live with their regret and shame as they pass before the resting place of these most foul murders. Know that to take from one’s lord holds a heavy burden”
