Fiona Wachter

The eldest living descendent of the Wachter line, Fiona Wachter was a Vallakian noble who opposed baron Vargas and sought to uproot him from his position. She carried herself with a superior posture that indicated her nobility and spoke with a straightforward, jaded tone. Her home was the Wachterhaus in Vallaki, where she lived with her two trouble making sons, Karl and Nikoli.
As her interests aligned with those of the party, she conspired with them to first eliminate Izek Strazni, Vargas' right hand man and bodyguard. But when Vargas learned of Izek's death, he complicated the plan by capturing the Martikovs and holding them as hostages as he had great suspicions of the party being behind this somehow.
It was when the party had eliminated Vargas' inner circle of guardsmen and sentries that Fiona revealed her hand. She was secretly the leader of a Strahd worshipping cult, a longstanding family connection between the Wachters and the von Zaroviches. With no organized defenders to stop them, Fiona's cult began ransacking the town to bring an order of evil upon it. But her coup was cut short by none other than The Land himself, who claimed that he did not associate with the cult but came instead to punish the Vallakians for their inadequate governing of his town.
When the party visited New Vallaki, The party learned through Karl, Fiona's son, that Fiona went missing the night of the Strahd's attack and was presumed dead.
