Session 2: Warp to Candlekeep 7/18/2021

General Summary

We time jump to a week later and arrive at Candlekeep. As we approach, we see this massive Citadel on the coast that is perched on both the cliffside and certain parts of it is extended out to the rocky outcrops. It’s one of those places that looks like it could fall into the ocean at any moment. Malcolm tells us it’s been here for centuries if not thousands of years. It looks a little weathered but it’s clear it’s protected from the elements.
Gorig gets introduced to the story. He has sailed to Candlekeep prepared with a book he has hand written himself, but gets rejected. He notices the odd party and approaches them. The group ends up inviting Gorig to our mission.
The group submits their book and is granted entry into Candlekeep.
After entering Candlekeep, Malcolm and Rin secure lodging for the group while the rest of the party goes to check out the wyvern. It apparently belongs to Matrius.
We head to the Pillars of Petigoggy(spelling?). We ask the attendant, Tellis, to give Matrius a note stating, “we have similar interests. meet at the pub by 6 pm. we're staying at X. We were sent by Thlei from Limshaven.” In the meantime, Malcolm checks out a few books about mushrooms.
We learn that Matrius is studying there, but he hasn’t checked out since yesterday. We go to investigate and find that he’s not in the room despite all of his belongings still in the room he has checked out.
We find a book that’s opened on the desk and speak a magic word which opens an interdimensional space holding an imp. We agree to help Matrius investigate the mansion and as we all enter and Matrius leaves, we see the doors close and the imp coming to life attacking Matrius.

Gained Access to Candlekeep.

We reach Candlekeep.
Gorig gets introduced to the story. He attempts to gain access to Candlekeep but fails.
The group makes the finishing touches to their book. Gorig sees them and Eshonai invites him to our party.
We're permitted access and the group splits to explore the city.
