As you come in, tiny bell above the door announces your arrival. And before you have any time to look around, you notice a small white cat bumping into your legs, demanding your attention. You glance aside and notice a bowl half-filled with chunks of meat near one of the display tables with "Moon Moon" scribbled on it in black ink.
Morbid Curiosities is your typical occult shop, full of clutter and full of possibilities. Unlike the other seedy shops of this category, this one is noticeably clean - aside from the messy cat food and maybe some mud footprints near the door, it is obvious that the shop owner takes great care about the aesthetics of this place. Even though all the tables and cabinets and other pieces of furniture are filled with some kind of a display, all of the items are well polished and regularly dusted. Even though one might fear that some things will fall on top of their head sooner rather than later, it doesn't feel that claustrophobic and it seems actually rather nice to peruse this shop during daytime.
During nighttime... well, all shadows seem more sinister, but there are more dangerous places to be stuck in Taresh than this one. The opening hours are written nowhere, but Marcel Mercier keeps the shop more OPEN than CLOSED. It's like that man never sleeps, huh?

Purpose / Function

You need something? Something truly special? Something... magical? Then you have come to the right place indeed. In Morbid Curiosities you can find anything from tarot decks, crystals, ritual daggers to dusty old grimoires, cursed antique furniture and other various pieces that can liven up the space of anyone's home. Sometimes too much, but there are no rewards without some risks.
Or perhaps you have something to dispose off? A family heirloom that's summoning painful memories? An enemy? Or a simple trinket you have... "found"? Come in and let's see what can be done about that.

Alterations

There are many hidden things and compartments scattered all thorough the four rooms of this shop and Marcel seems perfectly capable of remembering where all of his things are. You can rest assured that anything you discover is meant to be bought by someone eventually. Too much snooping around though, and you might trigger some nasty... surprise.

Architecture

There is not much to tell about the building itself as it is not in any way or shape unique. It doesn't really bring that much attention to itself and perhaps, that was precisely the point why was there an occult shop set up.

History

Eight years ago, Marcel Mercier inherited this shop from his uncle, Thomas Mercier after he had died under mysterious circumstances like the members of the Mercier family usually do. Since then, this little corner of the occult world has developed quite a reputation for itself for being the perfect place where one might find the... rarer and riskier kind of stuff. If one knows what to ask for.

Trivia

Cat Moon Moon is actually two separate cats, although for a mere mortal it is impossible to see both of them at one time. If you do spend enough time with Moon and Moon separately, you will notice some quirks and distinct behaviour they have and will be able to tell with which Moon you are hanging out right now. They are both cuddly as heck.
