Infantry Combat Robot

The Wahu Industries Infantry Combat Robot (ICR) is cheap mass produced combat mech used mostly by the The Alliance of Heroes    Though the Alliance prefers to use elite self-sufficient infantry, they acknowledge that heroes can't hold ground. ICRs tend to fill that role, providing garrison duties, bodyguard roles, and with the outbreak of the Terran War and the Karnian Konflict: Line infantry. A miniaturized power plant and long lasting battery allows them to operate for a significant time on minimal maintenance and few supplies, so they're often dropped behind enemy lines or left to hold down untenable positions where agents need to pull out. The standard AoH self-destruct devices mean they can't be turned against their old friends, and their small cost makes them relatively disposable as combat units   A humanoid design, the ICR has a skeletal frame, allowing it to fold up into a foot by foot cube for storage. This allows a lot of them to be packed into a small space. The trade off though is that they are relatively fragile, with minimal armor.   An ICR has it's limbs attached via a combination of magnetic and gravatic attachments, allowing for quick hot-swapping. Though the standard is that they carry an AoH laser rifle, many custom limb attachments exist with specialized weapons such as rocket launchers, extra batteries, welding lasers, etc. When an ICR is damaged, the most often case is that it loses a limb. Due to the nature of the attachments, it is capable of picking a working limb off of another casualty (or in extreme cases taking it's rifle and attaching it directly). On average, an ICR division will have 1/3 of it's "casualties" return to the field after repairing using scraps from others   The combat AI is where they surprisingly excel at. It's not a full AI, but it's competent enough for large hosts automated units, without having to worry about AI rights concerns. The great strength is that they each carry a miniature ansible which allows any command AI to take direct control. Should one unit find itself having a successful career, the pseudo-AI that runs it can get a software upgrade to full AI, at which point it is promoted to full agent. Given the high "mortality" rate of the ICRs, this is a rare occurrence
