Tree Spider
An infamous threat to the unwary both on land and in vacuum, the Tree Spider is a very large void-capable predatory arachnid.
The Tree Spider's name comes from its long, spiky-furred legs and its hunting strategy of burying much of its body inverted at its hunting ground. The spider's legs then resemble a stand of petrified evergreen trees.
Capable of reproducing at a truly vast scale, which coupled with its large size makes Tree Spider infestations a nightmare for even well-garrisoned systems.
Typically grows to a size of 70 m thorax and abdomen, at least as far as records can tell. Some evidence implies a specimen with sufficient access to food will never stop growing.
