The Resistance
There were many who protested the Uprising. It destroyed homes; tore people from their comfortable everyday and thrust them into chaos – even with the support of the Elves who’d torn them asunder in the first place, Humanity could not be expected to accept this change straight-out.
The Cleansed vowed to deal with this, but not all approved of their methods, viewing the quarantine they enforced as just another form of the oppression they felt under the Elves.
And so the Resistance was formed. Teams of protesters and freedom-fighters living in the shadows, scavenging technology and storming Elf-occupied land. Over time, some fae joined their ranks, protesting against the change just the same – as not all fae agreed with the Uprising, either.
Public Agenda
“The future of this country – of the world – is in danger. Humanity and fae have lived forever separately and peacefully, and now they demand our positions, our government, our power. Don’t they have power of their own? They have their own cities, their own land, outside where even humans can get to! And now they want war. They want to take what we have and push us out. Just before recording this, I witnessed a peaceful protest violently shut down by High Elf enforcers. Is that the peace they claim to want? Is this the future we want for humanity?
“And what have our governments done about it? Our monopolies? Hidden away behind their walls with their cosy homes and their safety. We have been let down and it’s time we the people took back our political control.
"That is what the Resistance is. We do not want the end to the fae. There are fae among us, fighting alongside us. We want to keep our territories and leave the fae in theirs. Deals can be made, trades can be made, fae can even work with us, we know they aren’t all the same, but human settlements are for humanity and the fae have taken that from us. The fae terrorists take by force what they can’t have and it’s time we stopped this war and dealt with our differences like adults.
"Join the Resistance. Take back the power. Rebuild humanity.”
History
The Resistance and The Rebellion both first came around as online communities during the initial voting period of the Uprising. People from all over the world came together to share their views and concerns, and over time, these would be the first foundations of these groups.
The Resistance were bourne of anti-fae online communities. While some held more extreme, violent views of the fae Uprising and became The Cleansed , those who disliked the fae presence but did not wish for outright genocide and quarantine began to call themselves the Resistance; united against both the fae and the Cleansed.
As the Uprising turned violent, the Resistance saw increased organisation and coordination, with local rally points being set and more tangible groups both on and offline. Having already established themselves against the initial Fae incursion, they were the first faction besides the Cleansed to be fully formed and named.
