Pure Wave is as much a cult as a gang. The only binding principle is hateful intolerance for all forms of cyberwear and those who use it.
Pretty much every other gang in the city is at war with Pure Wave and will shoot them on sight. That's why purification brigades need to gather a significant crowd before violently cleaning up the neighborhood. Full cyborg war veterans, boosted gangsters, corpos with cognition chips, and schoolgirls with cosmetic enhancements are equally guilty, and will be purified. Best case scenario for the victim is that they will be only beaten up and discarded on the street to bleed, after having their implants traumatically removed. Things get out of hand very quickly because the gangs will dispatch their forces against the purifiers' mob, and then the police will arrive and start shooting indiscriminately.
Some of the following is generated by online hatemongering against the augmented. So lone purifiers out for blood in the dark alleys and small packs of zealots harassing passers by are also common.
Obviously, Pure Wave don't use combat implants, relying only on training and enhancements based on natural body reactions, such as biosculpting, muscle grafting, enhanced antibodies, etc.
Scale of violence that Pure Wave can command on a short notice requires some kind of central coordination. There are several prominent virtual personas worshipped as Pure Wave leaders, but their actual personalities, if they exist, are unknown to public. Some civil rights groups support Pure Wave ideology, and bring juicy chaos into the public debate.
