Robotics

Robots and drones are computer-controlled machines capable of perceiving and manipulating their environment. Drones are non-sentient machines. They are highly used because AI programs are quite expensive. Putting a computer that runs an AI neural net inside of a robot body, thereby making a sentient robot, is of course possible.
Bots are widely used for dangerous, physically demanding, or dull tasks, such as:

• agrobots;
• Battlesuits and exoskeletons;
• Cargo handling, delivery;
• Construction, mining, salvage, including underwater
• Domestic servitors
• Teacher, nanny, elderly care - because they are patient <3
• Maintenance and repairs
• Transportation
• Petbots, to low key keep track of children
• Police: riot control, bomb disposal, evidence gathering, scanning
• Surveillance, media
• Medical bots
• Pleasure bots - as an experiment, kink, or experience - sure; but honestly, humans are much cheaper
• Exploration, rescue - for special situations like taking drunk billionaires down from Everest.

Swarmbots are not yet available, but probably someone is experimenting. Robots can be Biomorphic - shaped like living creatures, including androids.
That said, cybersecurity threats prevent even wider use of bots. Nobody wants to be murdered in their sleep by a hacked chihuahua petbot.
