Matriarch (ma·tri·arch)

A common title among the Gerudo, reserved for leaders of a city or Nomad Family. In a city, the Matriarch is the mayor and has less power than others who share her name in the Families. While the Martiarch of a city or town has a council that ultimately decides decisions with the Matriarch being the final say or the diplomatic envoy, the Matriarch of a Nomad Family has the final say on what the clan will do.
